Abstract
Like many of the other Australian metropolitan areas South East Queensland is rapidly growing. A population increase of approximately 1 million over the next 20 years will demand new planning and development responses and new policy tools. This article provides an empirical account of the piloting of one such new policy tool which assesses the potential and suitability of densification in urban localities.
