Abstract
This chapter distills some critical points that the employers should consider when employing User Experience (UX) professionals and frames. It also supplies the employers with critical knowledge that they need to understand UX professionals. An ideal approach to ramping up more junior UX professionals is to embed them in teams in which they can directly contribute but also have the opportunity for close mentorship from other more experienced practitioners while they build their skills and confidence. In many consulting agencies, a common strategy is to identify promising raw talent and to shape them into UX professionals according to the agency philosophy and quality standards. In-house UX teams could work throughout the life cycle of a particular development effort or could span multiple projects or development efforts. Teams—especially those that work collaboratively—are dynamic organisms that can be dramatically impacted with the addition of new members.
