Abstract
At the request of the SOCIETY'S Committee on the Professional and Economic Status of the Chemist, Roger Adams, Chairman of the Board of the AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY, summarized in October 10, 1945, issue of this publication several ideas for improving relationships between employers and professional employees. Requests for reprints of his article have been astonishing. A large number of companies have asked for sufficient copies to supply members of their boards of directors. Many requests have come from concerns outside of the chemical field, indicating that Dr. Adams' article received widespread publicity. Many progressive directors of research have requested copies of the article, obviously for the purpose of employing its logic in discussing the problem with management and catalyzing action on the 12 specific points dealt with in detail.
