Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the antecedents that are associated with the employee resilience and determine the concept of employee resilience as a strategy for surviving and thriving in the face of workplace adversity. This study was performed using a structured questionnaire to present the results of an exploratory study conducted on 400 employees working for Textile Apparel Industries in Chennai. A sample size of 400 employees was drawn on the basis of area cum purposive sampling technique. The findings of this research study clearly revealed from the factor analysis that the employees have the ability to bounce back after a setback in the workplace. The outcome of this study also clearly indicated that the social coherence, problem solving, excessive workload demand, peer support and empathy were found to be significant and strategic factors in fostering employee resilience in the work environment.
