Abstract

The awareness of employee Engagement and productivity of employees during the pandemic has become relevant to business organizations and common industries. It resonates with management’s exploration of the possible outcomes of every decision they will make. This study aims to determine if there is a significant relationship between employee engagement and productivity to continuously improve the workplace. It also compares the level of employee engagement and the level of productivity when respondents are grouped according to their demographic profile. This study was conducted on employees in a Commercial bank. This study made use of a Mixed-Method design, a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methodology was used to evaluate employee engagement and productivity of the respondents. Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to describe the degree of relationship between the factors affecting the level of employee engagement and the level of productivity. T-test and ANOVA were used to determine the significant difference between the level of employee engagement and the level of productivity when grouped according to demographic profile. The findings of the study showed that the level of employee engagement of employees through its subgroups is perceived as highly engaged. The study also showed that the level of productivity of employees through its subgroups is perceived as highly engaged. The study also showed that there is no significant difference in the level of employee engagement and the level of productivity when grouped according to their profile except for employment status which shows that there is a significant difference between probationary and regular employees and that probationary employees are more engaged and productive rather than regular employees.
