Abstract

Experimental evidence for state-selective one-electron capture in low energy ion-atom collisions shows these processes probably to follow some empirical rules which are presented and discussed. Making use of these selection rules we analyze some recent results on one-electron capture in Ne+/Ne2+-Li and O+-Li collisions which all involve probably transfer for a single "active" electron only.
