Abstract
Data on the absorption of 1·88 Mev positrons and 1·77 Mev electrons fit an empirical relation between the `equivalent thickness' t (in units of mg cm-2 × Z/A) (for a given transmission) and the atomic number Z of the form t±(T) = a exp (mZ1/3).
