Abstract

The conducted research aims to measure and explain the influence of emotional intelligence on their job performance within the education sector in Lebanon specifically in Lebanese universities. To reach this objective, the model of Golemanwas chosen to answer the research question. This model is based on emotional and social skills grouped into five dimensionsinclude self-awareness, self-motivation, empathy, social skills, and self-regulation. EI is the ability to understand and reason with emotions, perceive and express emotions, and integrate emotions to facilitate thinking and regulating emotions in oneself and others.
The quantitative approach allows testing hypotheses on representative samples. A quantitative method was chosen because it is a question of measuring the level of emotional intelligence of academic staff of Lebanese universities on the one hand, and, on the other hand, evaluating their job performance and the influence of emotional intelligence on job performance. The analysis of primary data and results obtained from the questionnaire are analyzed using the SPSS V25. However, the thematic analysis of the theory was done using NVIVO 12.The results mainly showed two positive correlations between EI dimensions and achievement and job performance.Emotionally intelligent teachers create effective learning environments. They can motivate their students by understanding their behavioral and psychological well-being.
