Abstract

Upbringing creates learning opportunities and interactions, and family has a direct influence on socio-affective development during childhood. This research analyses 682 responses from a survey carried out on family members of children under four years old, in a confined situation, during the COVID-19 lockdown in Spain. The goals are to discover several parenting practices and inquire about its emotional impact. The main findings show the utility of routines and the performance of playful-educational activities, and resilience in infants. Confinement makes it difficult to find a balance between work and family life, but it is considered an opportunity to be with family.
