Abstract

By the impact of 2 keV Lab Ar + ion beam on H 2 S, photoemission from the ionic and neutral products were observed in the 320–490 nm region: H 2 S + (\(\tilde{\text{A}}\) 2 A\(_{1}{-}\tilde{\text{X}}\) 2 B 1 ), SH + (A\(^{3}\varPi{-}\)X 3 Σ - ), SH(A 2 Σ + -X\(^{2}\varPi\)), H(Balmer series). In the Ar + +SO 2 reaction, only photoemission from the neutral species, SO 2 (\(\tilde{\text{A}}\) 1 B\(_{1}{-}\tilde{\text{X}}\) 1 A 1 ) and SO(A\(^{3}\varPi{-}\)X 3 Σ - ), could be identified.
