Abstract

A ruby ring laser with reentry mirror is considered and the dependence of its kinetics on the coupling coefficients is numerically analyzed. It is demonstrated that there exists a critical degree of coupling, associated with backscattering, below which a quasicontinuous mode of emission is not attainable despite a prevailing stability. One possible algorithm of coupling modulation for attainment of quasicontinuous unidirectional emission is also examined here.
