Abstract

The carbon emission emergy factor (Em-CEF) model is applied to evaluate the carbon emissions associated with the traditional concrete production method, fly ash concrete production method, coal gangue concrete production method, and recycled aggregate concrete production method in the complete lifecycle. The highest emission reduction can be achieved when solid industrial waste is used to replace part of the traditional raw materials, and the processing and treatment of industrial waste are simplified. Among the four production methods, gangue concrete production corresponds to the highest emission reduction. When solid waste recycled concrete is applied to reduce carbon emissions, coal gangue concrete can be prioritized.
