Abstract

A particular drug delivery system will aim to slow the tissue specific release. In these days, due to many issues linked with drug release with the use of synthetic polymers, many manufacturers are likely to make use of natural polymers. Natural polymers are used on the basis to get predetermined drug distribution throughout the body. Natural polymers are also used as exciepients with the various new advancements in the treatment of diseases. Mostly, natural polymers are utilized in TDDS as rate-controlling agent, stabilizing and protecting agents and also to minimize the number of dosing and to improve the efficacy of the drug by localizing at the site of action. The main objective of this review is to give a glance on the use of natural polymers.
