Abstract

A number of aircraft accidents are associated with control surfaces failure. In this paper, A two-step trajectory generation algorithm (TGA) is proposed to obtain safe emergency plans on line for ailerons jam situations: a search algorithm based on a modified genetic algorithm (GA) finds a segmented trajectory to an intermediate point, and an end-procedure adjusts the aircraft position, heading and attitude that are suitable for a safe landing and generates trajectory sequence to reach the landing site. Emergency plan is based on a trim database, so a trim state generation and stability evaluation method based on extended continuation and bifurcation algorithm (EBA) for a degraded flight dynamics is stated. The proposed architecture is general for any control surface jam situation. An F-16 aileron jam scenario is presented to illustrate the utility of the proposed algorithm for during damaged flight planning and guidance.
