Abstract

In order to maintain the power system stability for more serious disturbance, some stability control devices have been installed, and the stability control system is developed. Angle stability problem is one important stability problem of power system and the control strategy is computed ahead of time by offline simulation. The power flow of data used in the offline simulation usually is very serious so that the control strategy can be used for all the operation mode of actual power system. It is not economic and may be out of function for some special operation mode. It may be better to compute the control strategy based on the actual power system data online. The paper presents the emergency control automatic computation method of angle stability. The power system angle stability usually is oscillation between several different generator groups. The oscillation center is important and can be computed during transient stability simulation. Then, power system is divided into several areas based on the oscillation center, and then the adjustable area and device are found and sorted. Finally the adjustable method is determined by simulation. The north China power system is used as one example to introduce the whole process of the method and testify the validity.
