Abstract

Background: India has traversed a long and arduous path since launching the first ever Family Planning Programme in the world in 1952. The program has further evolved from a targeted approach to a target free approach. Initially main thrust of program was on sterilization, but now the stress is to bring about awareness of contraception and make informed choices. Emergency contraception (EC) has been included in armamentarium. This study was conducted among the nursing staff working in a Private Medical College. Aim and Objective: The main objective of the study was to check the correct knowledge of EC among service providers (Nursing staff). Materials and Methods: Questionnaire based, cross-sectional, prospective study carried out and analyzed by descriptive stats and Chi-square test.
