Abstract
As usual, there were many standards committee meetings at our annual symposium. This year in Denver, we had over 10 hours of meetings, including working group (WG) meetings. This gave us time to delve not only into management of our Society standards but also to hear from representatives of our sister societies outside the IEEE on their EMC standards work. These representatives are members of our Standards Advisory and Coordination Committee (SACCom). In addition, this year we had our first face-to-face meeting at a working lunch with the Society's Education and Student Activity committee (ESAC) members. This was to focus on our joint activity on education. ESAC focuses on college level EMC education while our Society standards education effort is within our Standards Development and Education Committee (SDECom). Following the luncheon, SDECom presented a training session on the IEEE standards process given by our staff support from the IEEE Standards Association. All the meetings were held at the Denver Convention Center starting on Monday, 5 August, and throughout the week.
