Abstract
The accurate and repeatable measurements of electromagnetic interference (EMI) emission and susceptibility characteristics of equipment and subsystem and/or system electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) have been a challenging task for many years. There is a substantial difference between military and civil or commercial EMI/EMC standards, specifications and measurement procedures. Accordingly, the EMC compliance test facilities are setup in three ways, namely: (a) for military equipment, (b) for civil equipment and (c) for both military and civil equipment. The requirements of EMC test facility for military equipment, subsystems or systems are emphasised. A general introduction to EMC test facility of the Electronics and Radar Development Establishment, Bangalore are also given.
