Abstract
Abstract Three factors regulate the quality (dynamic, tone color, etc.) and/or the pitch of the tone: air, reed placement, and embouchure formation. The basic ground rules are: the air should be energetic; as little of the reed as is practical should be placed in the mouth; and the embouchure tension should be minimal. After reading the preceding chapter to make sure that the air production is healthy, adjusting the rest of the toneproduction chain should be much more effective.
