Abstract

Inferior vena cava (IVC) aneurysms are extremely rare vascular anomalies. As a result of potential serious complications such as thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, treatment of IVC aneurysms is recommended, particularly for diverticular and small-necked lesions. This report describes a 2.5-year-old male child with a congenital large saccular aneurysm of the infrarenal IVC who underwent successful embolization with coils and an Amplatzer vascular plug device.
