Abstract
Embolotherapy is an integral part of the practice of interventional radiology. Although many of the embolic agents in common use are well established, advances in microcatheter design, as well as microcatheter-compatible embolic agents, have expanded the role of embolotherapy. This article reviews common embolic agents for use with both standard and microcatheter systems and their roles in embolotherapy.
