Abstract

As one of the fastest-growing areas of management research, this chapter heeds the call to help clarify the fundamentals of talent management by exploring its relevance in the context of entrepreneurship. It applies a bibliometric approach to yield a quantitative analysis of academic literature to construct a representative model of the context explored. First, the chapter offers an overview of the theoretical background on talent management and entrepreneurship. It also includes entrepreneurship in an organizational context, along with the relationship between the talent management and entrepreneurship. Next, the chapter describes the bibliometric methodology of the literature view and, finally, analyses the limited but important papers published to date on talent management in entrepreneurial firms. It contains a discussion of the finding of the bibliometric analysis and makes special reference to the limitations of the literature and to future lines of research.
