Abstract

This paper deals with real time simulator that used for test of new algorithm control. It's focused on the algorithm used to solve the global system. As an example, a simulator of a stato Var compensator is carried out. Several methods of modelling are explored, in order to optimise the execution time and to automate the extensibility of the model according to the number of passive filters. The state matrix of the model is diagonal per block. A method at constant execution time is elaborate. It gives a good compromise precision/performances. A method of variable step simulation for Range-Kutta method is presented. That improves the accuracy of thyristor bridge waveform, running on DSP board with 666/spl mu/s sampling time. Simulation and experimental results show the high performances of the simulator and the great interest of this help tool for manufactory pretuning and commissioning. The simulator is integrated into the industrial product and validated on an experimental model of stato Var compensator.
