Abstract

An overview of authors' results related to EM wave scattering by many small particles, embedded in homogeneous medium, is presented. The particles are the thin (nano) perfectly conducting wires or their properties are described by their boundary impedance. The proposed approach allows one to create the medium with a given refraction coefficient or with a desirable spatially inhomogeneous permeability. The important physical results are explicit analytical formulas for the refraction coefficient n2(x) and magnetic permeability μ(x) of resulting media.
