Abstract
The aim of this text is to highlight the aspects of the study recently published in the European Heart Journal (Value of screening for the risk of sudden cardiac death in young competitive athletes) and the two comments and one editorial that followed it, which, due to their relevance and uniqueness, could drive future processes to optimise athlete screening methodologies, improving their efficiency, and reducing costs. This will require further studies with follow-up, the refinement of normality criteria and the implementation of immediate and effective resuscitation measures with automatic external defibrillation in all sports venues and gyms.
