Abstract

In this paper, we demonstrated a band pass filter based on NXN square photonic crystal ring resonator (PCRR) with 45 degrees bend in an ordinary waveguide. According to the numerical analysis 45 degrees bend waveguide structure fully suitable as an optical filter with respect to C band (1530nm-1565nm). The main characteristics of this proposed band pass filter using elliptical rods structure with different angle in square PCRR, normalized transmission can be analyzed for 4x4 dielectric rods structure. By varying the radius of scatter rods normalized transmission can be investigated for this proposed band pass filter. Finite difference time domain method (FDTD) is very suitable method to obtain simulation results. Quality factor approx. 164 is obtained through simulation for circular rods Square and Q factor 155 noticed for elliptical rods square PCRR. Selection of proper parameters photonic band gap structure is obtained by using plane wave expansion (PWE) method. The overall size of proposed BPFs with 45 degree bend in waveguide is 8.49μ X 9.90μm.This proposed band pass filter would be more feasible for future access network and many other applications.
