Abstract

This paper presents a new method for constructing a pressure profile to calculate surface elastic deformation in EHL (elastohydrodynamic lubrication) problems and a new numerical elliptic-paraboloid method is obtained. For comparing calculation accuracy and numerical stability with the Dowson-Hamrock and biquadratic methods a new scheme is employed. The results indicate that the elliptic-paraboloid method has higher numerical accuracy and better numerical stability. The method can be applied to solving EHL problems.
