Abstract
This paper focuses on three level high-power IGBT converter protection against high humidity and high temperature effects. The influences of high temperature and high humidity on the system performances were analyzed and optimized. The protection and cooling systems were designed. The proposed water-cooling type heat sink was designed. Furthermore, the selection of materials for the proposed enclosed container and coating were optimized to achieve high insulation thermal resistance and high humidity insulation. The thermal and fluid analyses emphasized the relevant use of the proposed water-cooling system and improved the performances of the converter remarkably. The proposed method for protecting the converter against high humidity needs to be tested at high humidity environment, to insure its effectiveness.
