Abstract

The Intersociety Committee on Rock Mechanics has announced an international roster of speakers for the Eleventh Symposium on Rock Mechanics to be held June 16–19, 1969, at the University of California, Berkeley. The program will emphasize the inter‐disciplinary character of the field, including the geologic aspects of rock mechanics, simulation of rock behavior by theoretical and experimental means, and the role of fluids in rock mechanics and recent developments. A field trip to Auburn Dam, with a briefing by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation staff and and inspection of the underground test site and instrumentation, will conclude the program.
