Abstract

In recent years, Lipoprotein (a) [Lp(a)] has been in the spotlight to be the new biochemical predictor for acute myocardial infarction (AMI). As Lp(a) has prothrombotic and proinflammatory properties, it was postulated to play a role in the mechanism of acute thrombosis in AMI.
