Abstract

Aim: Objective It is generally accepted that LDL cholesterol play a more important role for the development of coronary heart disease than for ischemic stroke. The aim of this study was to explore the role of LDL cholesterol in different types of atherosclerotic disease. We used subjects with a pathogenic familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) mutation as a model to explore the isolated role of elevated LDL cholesterol.
