Abstract
Summary These recommended elements of training are the accumulatedwisdom of individuals from multiple diverse programs, andthey align with the results of the 2008 Role Delineation Study.These recommendations are intended to guide the develop-ment of new programs and improve existing programs. Theseguidelines intentionally lack the specifics of ideal number ofcases, species requirements, and minimum numbers ofpathologists because the ACVP does not currently accreditprograms. However, self-assessment and improvement toensure that all training programs meet the minimum stan-dards outlined above are essential to produce the highlyskilled veterinary pathologists needed to fulfill the ACVPvision of being ‘‘innovative andintegral contributors to glo-bal health solutions.’’
