Abstract

Beethoven Sonata op. 53 "Waldstein" serves as a pretext for the analysis of some elements of interpretation, normally used in the pedagogical process: the formal conception, the tempo, the logical organization of the musical material, the pedal and the orchestral sonority of the composer's piano music. Exploring my experience of more than four decades, both as a pedagogue and as a performer, the text tries to bring readers closer to the stylistic characteristics of Beethoven's piano music and to my personal conception of the interpretation of these works.
