Abstract

The dynamics of a nonlinear wave field having a stable localized state (soliton) is essentially dependent on the spectrum of elementary excitations of the soliton. The spectrum is found below for a soliton of the two-dimensional Schrödinger equation with attracting cubic nonlinearity. The equation describes a number of physical phenomena, in particular the self-focusing of electromagnetic radiation.
