Abstract

The effect of the firing temperature and heating rate on the content of elemental iron in samples based montmorillonite clay from Orenburg Oblast was investigated. It was established by means of x-ray fluorescence analysis that the iron content in samples based on kaolinite-containing clay and a mixture of clays does not change in the experimental temperature range. It is shown that the content of elemental iron can be used as a marker for controlling the stages of sintering of aluminosilicate ceramic.
