Abstract

Electronic properties of Mn(acac)3 complex : a cyclic voltammetry and computational chemistry study Tris(acetylacetonato) Manganese(III) is a catalyst in alkyd paint. In this study, the electronic properties of Mn(acac)3 are determined by means of electrochemistry and computational chemistry. The optimised geometrical and electronic structure of Mn(acac)3 is calculated by means of computational chemistry, and electrochemistry is applied to measure the following reactions:MnIII(acac)3 - e- ⇆ MnIV(acac)3 MnIII(acac)3 + e- ⇆ MnII(acac)3
