Abstract
Ethyl 4-ethoxycarbonylmethyl-3,5-dimethylpyrrole-2-carboxylate (1) has been synthesized by extension and modification of Knorr pyrrole synthesis. Its acetoxymethyl derivative (2) has also been synthesized.
