Abstract

Silver nanocomposites and nanocomposite coatings based on copolymers of N-vinylimidazole and N-vinylpyrrolidone are synthesized in water and water-ethanol media on electrodes of pure iron and steel by an electrochemical technique. The composition and structure of nanocomposites is confirmed by the methods of electron and IR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, transmission electron microscopy, thermogravimetry, etc. The solubility of nanocomposites is shown to depend on the concentration of silver particles in the (co)polymer matrix. The thermal decomposition of nanocomposites proceeds in stages.
