Abstract
Nanofibers of chitosan and polyvinyl alcohol grafted copolymer were prepared by electrospinning from their neutral aqueous solutions of concentration 9-14% in the absence of low-molecular-weight electrolytes. The viscosity characteristics of the solutions and the effects of solution concentrations and copolymer compositions on their fiber-forming capabilities were studied. Electron microscopy showed that fibers of thickness from 80 to 500 nm were formed depending on the preparation conditions.
