Abstract
The use of a jet-polishing technique to prepare high-quality thin foils of both polycrystalline and single-crystal YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7 − δ for study in the transmission electron microscope is demonstrated. The technique is shown to be ideal for conventionally processed sintered material where limited porosity exists as well as single crystals having dimensions of 0.5 mm and larger along the [100] and [010] directions.
