Abstract

Abstract Samples of Fasciola gigantica, collected from cow and water buffalo liver, were examined electrophoretically for enzyme polymorphism at loci coding for phosphoglucomutase and Superoxide dismutase. Both loci were in Hardy‐Weinberg equilibrium, and the absence of significant allele frequency difference among the population of F. gigantica in the two polymorphic loci indicates a single strain of parasite.
