Abstract
Acrylamide disc electrophoresis patterns of serum from cancer patients are compared with those of normal serum. A significant difference in pattern is observed, especially when sera are incubated, prior to electrophoresis, with total yeast RNA. The results obtained with this technique are then compared with a complement fixation reaction using as antigen the same yeast RNA. It was found that the electrophoresis technique has a higher percentage concordance with histological diagnosis. However, certain anomalous results were obtained and these are discussed.
