Abstract

Sera from humans infected with Schistosoma mansoni and from non-infected controls were fractionated by continuous flow paper curtain electrophoresis. The circumoval precipitin test was performed on all fractions obtained. It was observed that the circumoval precipitin antibody present in the blood sera of individuals infected with Schistosoma mansoni is located in the gamma- 1-globulin fraction. The other fractions, i.e., albumin, alpha-1, alpha-2, beta and gamma- 2 were negative for circumoval precipitins.
