Abstract

Increasing the concentration of acrylamide gel decreases the absolute electrophoretic mobility of hemoglobins, egg albumins, and serum albumin polymers. In a series of hemoglobins, the relative mobility of any two is unaffected by changes in gel concentration; the same is true of the principal components of egg albumin. However, the mobilities of albumin polymers (relative to the monomer) decreases linearly with increasing gel concentration.
