Abstract
Single-mode channel waveguides at short visible wavelengths have been fabricated by Rb ↔ K ion exchange in KTiOPO 4 . The channel waveguides show a typical attenuation of 1.5 dB/cm and negligible light-induced refractive index changes. The electrooptic properties as well as dc-drift phenomena have been investigated by using integrated electrooptic phase- and Mach-Zehnder-interferometer modulators.
