Abstract

Mutual drag of electrons and phonons in degenerate conductors in classical magnetic fields is considered. It is shown that the coupled kinetic equations for nonequilibrium electron and phonon distribution functions can be transformed into a system of Volterra’s inhomogeneous integral equations. A solution is found to the system of integral equations with inclusion of all terms yielding contributions linear in the degeneracy parameter. An analysis is made of the effect of a magnetic field on momentum relaxation in an electron-phonon system.
