Abstract

Using a non-equilibrium Green functions technique and the Hartree–Fock approximation, electronic transport calculations were performed for nanodevices consisting of bi-partitetype molecules connected to para- and ferromagnetic leads. For the proper description ofthe system, the voltage drop effect on the molecule was included. A negative differentialresistance in the current–voltage characteristics was found. For the system withferromagnetic leads, bistable behaviour and significant magnetoresistance were shown.
