Abstract

Acelerated development of new technologies of information and communication many processes have been optimized. Also, the integration of automation in the electric sector has caused a notable impact generating advanced mechanisms for the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy. In this sense, the systems of control and monitoring of electricity consumption represent an important point of scientific interest, allowing a direct connection between the electrical network and the final consumer. In this way, the present paper describes the development and implementation of a prototype system of monitoring and control of the electrical distribution in a home. The development of the prototype contemplates two stages linked through a single board computer. In the first stage the monitoring of the electrical network is carried out through sensors and electronic data acquisition cards. The information collected is stored in a database and then exported to a user-friendly graphical interface with easy iteration. In the second stage existing equipment and household appliances in home are controlled.
