Abstract

Within the charge-spin separation fermion-spin theory, the electronic structure in the doped bilayer cuprates in the normal-state is discussed. In analogy to the doped single layer cuprates, the quasiparticle dispersion in the doped bilayer cuprates exhibits the flat bands around the [ π, 0] point below the Fermi energy. It is also shown that the differentiation between the bonding and antibonding components around the [ π, 0] point is essential, this leads to a small bilayer band splitting along the [ π, 0] direction.
