Abstract

The density-of-states for the π and the metal/interlayer bands for K xCs 1−xC 8 has been calculated as a function of composition using both the virtual crystal and the average t-matrix approximations. The results show a broadening and, for some compositions, a splitting of the sharp peaks in the valence and conduction band densities-of-states.
